Our Mission

"Cornerstone Christian Center exisits to make fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ." The Bible is quite clear on the emphasis of making disciples not just converts. Jesus said in the Great Commission:

Matthew 28:19 (NIV)
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

Someone once said that it is easy to make a child, the hard part is raising he or she. And the same stands true for the church today. Some denominations or groups boast the numbers of conversions, but how many of those converts, those babies, are they making into fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ?

Jesus put the emphasis on making disciples. Making disciples is a lot of work. It's sometimes difficult to take babies in the church that have known the Lord for 20, 30, 50 years, and convince them that there is more to Christianity than waiting around to go to heaven!

At Cornerstone Christian Center, we are striving to make disciples of every person that calls Cornerstone "their church."

Accomplishing the Mission

We accomplish our mission by fulfilling our seven core values.

Dedicating ourselves lives to regularly pray, to consistently study God’s Word, to share good news with those in need, to serve the Lord with our gifts and talents, to daily follow the Holy Spirit, to joyfully and generously give of our resources, and to disciple others.

Looking for a church to call home ?

We'd love to see you at Cornerstone. We are not a perfect church, but you will notice as soon as you walk through the doors on Sunday morning that the people are friendly and sincere. They love the Lord and express it in their worship and service.

Principle of Twelve
...or P12...

Cornerstone is modeling its church on the Principle of Twelve.

The Principle of Twelve is really quite simple. It is the process through which a believer pours his life into 12 men and nurtures them. These twelve then turn and do the same to twelve more men.

The concept is based on spiritual multiplication, which is nothing new. After all, Solomon said, "...there is nothing new under the sun" (Eccles. 1:9). Multiplication was employed by Elijah, Paul, and Jesus himself. Britain was evangelized by monks who built cells around the principle of 12. John Wesley understood this concept during the Great Awakening revival when believers were divided into small accountability groups of 12 men.

Dr. Bill Bright of Campus Crusade for Christ said that personal evangelism is essential and that "the best way to do this is through spiritual multiplication. Pick out several of your top people, pour your life into them, pray with them, do whatever is necessary to bond with them, and make your ministry in their lives reproductive".

Dr. Billy Graham concurs. When asked what he'd do differently, Billy Graham answered that he'd select 12 men and pour his life into them.

Jesus used 12 men to give birth to the early church and it is still the most effective way of discipling people with a multiplying effect.

We could devote an entire web site to The Principle of Twelve. It is a total lifestyle for the church and its members. We are slowly but surely implementing some of these principle at Cornerstone. While we still have a ways to go, we are already seeing changed lives.
